Week 1

God made the world and plants (Creation Week, days 1-4). Genesis 1:1-19

Big Ideas -  God's Word has power to do what it says. God made all things in order and perfectly.

Day 1 - light

Day 2 - atmosphere (sky), separating waters above and below

Day 3 - dry land, waters gathered to their place, all plant life

Day 4 - heavenly lights - sun, moon, and stars.

The belief in God as the Creator is foundational to the entire Biblical message, especially the message of salvation. This week and the next we will be focusing on the awesome majesty and power of God as shown in creation, while emphasizing His loving care and protection for all. The original perfection of creation is established in God's Word and is the pivotal backdrop to the rest of history. The good news is that the same almighty power He used in creating a marvelous world is the power He used in saving us fallen creatures from our sin. He truly loves us and wants us to be with Him forever in heaven.
