Introduction Weeks

The Bible is God's Word.

Big Ideas:  The Bible is God's Word to us. God's Word teaches us the truth we need to know, gives us faith, and helps our faith to grow.

We will learn that the Bible is divided into 2 main sections: Old Testament and New Testament. The Old Testament points forward as people looked for the Saviour who would pay the penalty we all deserved for our sins.

The New Testament shows our Saviour, God in the flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ. It points to His completed work of paying for the sins of the whole world and His great love for each and every one of us.

Thus, the Bible, God's Word to us, is God's love letter. It reveals His will for us all to come to a knowledge of the truth of all that He has done for us and continues to do for us. He loves us all and wants us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Thus, right from the beginning of the year we "keep our eyes on Jesus", the living Word of God. God wants us to know our Saviour, Jesus, and thus He gave us the Bible. Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift!
