March 17, 2020 - Collection of Student Belongings

Dear Parents of Prince of Peace,

First and foremost, our prayer is that you are all safe and well.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we determine how to proceed during this time.  The events of the past few weeks have impacted every aspect of our daily living.  We are in unchartered territory and we must all work hard to ensure we are looking after each other in rapidly changing circumstances.

A plan for student learning is being developed by every school division in the province. Watch for formal announcements from the school or school division about what that will look like.  In the meantime, below is information about retrieving your child’s belongings.

Please carefully read the following information regarding the collection of student belongings:

DO NOT COME FOR PICK-UP IF:

• you are sick - If you are ill, DO NOT come in to pick up your child’s belongings.  Call to arrange another time when you are well again.
• you have returned from travel – Travelers returning from outside of Canada after March 4, call to arrange for pick-up at a later time. Do NOT come for pick-up this week.

PICK-UP of STUDENT BELONGINGS & SUPPLIES - Your child’s supplies, materials, and belongings have been gathered from their desks, lockers, and bins.  They have been placed in a clear plastic bag and labeled with their name.  They will be available for pick-up in the Chapel at the time scheduled for your family in the chart below.  There will be no access to lockers or classrooms.

Only parents or students themselves may pick up their things.  No pick-ups for other families or friends will be permitted.

Maintain social distancing during pick-up. If the Pick-up area becomes too crowded, students and parents who are waiting their turn to enter the building will be asked to wait outside.

PLEASE COME ONLY AT YOUR SCHEDULED DAY AND TIME.   IF YOU COME AT ANY OTHER TIME, YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED ACCESS TO THE BUILDING, AND WILL BE REDIRECTED TO COME BACK AT YOUR SCHEDULED TIME.

BOOTS & OUTDOOR SHOES - Boots and outdoor shoes will be available for pick-up on the shoe racks at the front entrance.

GR. 7 – 9 TEXTBOOKS – Students can choose to keep the textbooks they brought home with them OR they can use the textbooks that are available online from their teachers.  If a student does not have a textbook they need at home and would like to have them, they can be signed out at the scheduled pick-up time indicated below.

GR. K – 4 HOME-READING BOOKS – Please return ALL Home-reading books.

LIBRARY BOOKS – Students may continue to use their Library books but will need to return them when school reopens.  Any lost Library books will need to be reimbursed.

KEEP EVERYTHING - Please DO NOT throw out any school supplies or materials.  Your child may need to use it over the next number of weeks to continue their learning.  They will also need these materials and supplies when they return to school.

BAND PARENTS - If you are a band parent, please look for a separate email from Ms. Watson.
